VIDEO: Prince William’s ‘Heartthrob’ Moment Sends Fans Wild
Prince William has been deemed a “heartthrob” online after footage from his appearance during the Trooping the Color celebrations in London this weekend went viral on TikTok.
The heir to the British throne will celebrate his 42nd birthday on June 21, just days after participating in the official birthday celebrations for his father, King Charles III. Extra attention was drawn to this year’s Trooping the Color as it marked Princess Kate’s return to the public eye after her cancer announcement was made in March.
The princess, who is still undergoing chemotherapy, had made her last public appearance on Christmas Day before appearing at the event on Saturday, making a stylish impact in a black and white ensemble likened to a costume worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1964 movie musical My Fair Lady. Not all eyes were on Kate for the event, though, with fans on social media posting admiration for William and his dashing appearance in the red tunic of the Welsh Guards, of which he was made colonel in 2022.
William rode in his full dress uniform and bear skin hat in the carriage procession on the day, following King Charles and Queen Camilla. He also witnessed the parade of the Irish Guards at Horse Guards Parade before taking part in the traditional royal family balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace. Uploaded to TikTok by user @thewalesbrasil, on June 17, footage highlighting William’s participation on the day has won praise from fans, gaining over 240,000 views in 24 hours.
The video includes clips of William’s salute to troops in slow motion, capturing the falling rain which dampened the proceedings. It also includes the moment the prince watched as a fleet of military jets performed a flypast over Buckingham Palace in honor of the king. Captioned “The Prince Of Wales” with a burning flame emoji, the video has received in excess of 19,000 likes and over 400 comments, many of which have complimented the prince and his appearance. “The man’s still a total heartthrob,” wrote one fan.
“Hair or no hair… he’s gorgeous,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “What a beautiful site to see he’s so handsome.” Two days after the Trooping the Colour celebrations, William took part in the annual Garter Day ceremonies at Windsor Castle. The prince has been a member of the Order of the Garter (Britain’s oldest and most senior chivalric order) since 2008.
