WATCH: Patrick Mahomes unveils new type of pass that could have NFL defenses worrying even more than usual
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is just doing side quests at this point.mPatrick Mahomes has nothing left to prove to anyone. He may be chasing Tom Brady in terms of Super Bowl rings, but the 28-year-old has already carved out a legacy that not many other players in the history of the NFL can surpass.
He’s gotten to the pinnacle of the sport of football due to hard work, but more than anything because of his immense physical talent that pairs with his improvisational skills. It’s what makes him so dangerous when he leaves the pocket. And now, he’s showing he has another trick up his sleeve.
During a recent Kansas City Chiefs practice, Mahomes scrambled and looked to be headed past the line of scrimmage. Instead, he threw a no-look, behind-the-back pass to rookie running back Carson Steele. Steele made a sweet one-handed catch to complete the play.
Of course, this wasn’t against a real defense in a real game setting, but we’ve seen Mahomes go so far as to throw left-handed in an actual game before. There’s no stopping him from trying something like this during the upcoming season.
