Following the Kansas City Chiefs’ 40-22 Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, tight end Travis Kelce maintained a positive attitude. On Monday, Feb. 10, a video surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), showing the 35-year-old athlete having a FaceTime conversation with electronic music duo The Chainsmokers.
“I just played your f—ing party,” said Alex Pall, 39, one half of The Chainsmokers, alongside Drew Taggart, 35, after performing at the Chiefs’ afterparty.
Despite missing the celebration, Kelce appeared in good spirits, smiling as he chatted with the DJs over the phone. During the call, someone in the background added, “Dom is here too,” before turning Kelce’s camera to show DJ Dom Dolla.
Chiefs’ Afterparty Goes On Without Kelce
Though Kelce was absent, the Chiefs’ afterparty continued with fans and children dressed in team gear. Gracie Hunt, daughter of Chiefs CEO and chairman Clark Hunt, shared clips of the event on her Instagram Stories, showing a crowd decked out in red, celebrating on the dance floor.
Kelce’s Partying History with The Chainsmokers
Kelce’s decision to skip this year’s post-game party was a departure from his usual celebrations. After winning the 2024 Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers, he attended the victory festivities, partying with The Chainsmokers, fellow teammates, and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, at Zouk nightclub in Las Vegas.
In one viral TikTok video from last year, Kelce was seen on stage dancing to Swift’s 2008 hit “You Belong with Me” during the afterparty. He also joined the electronic duo for the Chiefs’ afterparty at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Las Vegas following their 2023 Super Bowl victory against the Eagles.
A Strong Friendship Beyond Football
Kelce, Pall, and Taggart share a well-documented friendship, having celebrated together on multiple occasions. In May 2024, the Chiefs star was spotted backstage at The Chainsmokers’ Kentucky Derby show in Louisville, Ky., further solidifying their bond.
While this Super Bowl ended in disappointment for Kelce and the Chiefs, his camaraderie with The Chainsmokers continues, proving that win or lose, friendships remain strong.
There were reports too that Travis Kelce was helpless when Taylor Swift was getting booed.
