CELEBRITY
Ryan Reynolds once again proved why he and Blake Lively are one of the cutest couples in Hollywood: The Deadpool star, 47, was on the Today show with his IF (which stands for Imaginary Friends) co-stars John Krasinski and Cailey Fleming, 17, when Hoda Kotb asked about Taylor Swift, Hoda wanted to know if they had seen Swift’s Eras Tour yet
Free Guy actor Ryan – whose wife Blake is close to Taylor – said: ‘I’m about to go to Madrid. I’m very excited. My wife and kids have been to, like, five or six now.’
Jenna quipped: ‘Well they are besties,’ to which Ryan said: ‘They love it, yeah. They are obsessed.’ Ryan – who talked about the name of his fourth child on Monday – added that this will be his first Swift show: ‘I’ve been buried in a work bubble for the past year and a half and yeah, it’s a problem but I’ve gotten help and I’m getting out.’
The official Paramount logline reads: ‘A young girl who goes through a difficult experience begins to see everyone’s imaginary friends who have been left behind as their real-life friends have grown up.’ Krasinski wrote and directed the film based on watching his daughters interact together in their bedroom when they thought no one was watching. And then, during the pandemic, that magical world they created together changed and he got inspiration from the movie by the dichotomy.
The movie had its premiere in New York City on Monday and Page Six caught Reynolds and teased him for getting to go home to Blake. The Red Notice actor said: ‘She’s no slouch, that’s for sure.’ The couple have been married since 2012 and share daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and a 1-year-old whose name has not been revealed yet. Previously, Reynolds has said that he sometimes struggles with maintaining his mental health but his family helps him stay on track. ‘My mission in life is to get home to be with my kids,’ he told the outlet.
‘It’s funny that I’m working with Steve Carell [on IF] because years ago somebody said to me, “Oh, you’re a real Steve Carell,” and I was like, “What does that mean? I love Steve Carell. What does that mean?”‘ ‘[They were] like, “Oh, he’s always just, as soon as he’s done [at] work, there’s no socializing. There’s a Steve-sized hole in the wall, and he’s on his way to his kids.” That’s how I am,’ he happily admitted.
At the premiere, he told E! News that this is the first movie he and his wife have made that their young kids can see. ‘My kids are psyched to see it, which is so nice. Cause you always want your kids to pay attention to what you do.’ He continued: ‘And I think when they see movies being made, it’s so agonizingly slow and boring. So when they see something condensed down to an hour and 45 minutes, it’s pretty wild for them,’ the outlet reported.
