NEWS FLASH: Here’s a brief overview of who the NFL believe will be the top fantasy quarterbacks this upcoming season and why.
As the NFL season draws near, the draft has concluded, teams are familiar with their opponents, and while a few free agents remain, most of the key players have found their teams. We are now just past the midpoint of the offseason. With the regular season approaching, so does the fantasy football season. Here’s a brief overview of who I believe will be the top fantasy quarterbacks this upcoming season and why.
Last season, the top three fantasy quarterbacks were Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, and Dak Prescott. The key to their success was their mobility. Allen and Hurts each rushed for over 500 yards and scored 15 rushing touchdowns, providing a significant boost in fantasy points. Following them were MVP Lamar Jackson and Jordan Love, both also known for their agility and rushing abilities.
This year’s draft was notable for the high number of offensive players, with a record 23 selected in the first round. This influx of talent has the potential to significantly impact fantasy values. For instance, Chicago has bolstered Caleb Williams’ options with Keenan Allen and Romeo Odunze, while Denver has not added similar weapons for Bo Nix.
As we inch closer to the start of the NFL season, these developments will shape the landscape of both the regular and fantasy football seasons, making for an exciting and unpredictable year ahead.
Patrick Mahomes Mahomes is expected to be the top fantasy QB this season, provided the situation with Rashee Rice is resolved favorably for the team. Despite a “down” year by his standards, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a championship and finished eighth in fantasy points last season. With playmakers like Travis Kelce, Isiah Pacheco, Hollywood Brown, and rookie Xavier Worthy, Mahomes is set to dominate and lead in fantasy points as he did in 2022.
