‘Difficult to watch’ | How has the…
Paul, 27, with 11 wins and one loss to Tommy Fury, stayed mobile and peppered Tyson with his jab, which was enough to give him a clear win on the cards at the conclusion of the eighth and final round.
Posting on Instagram, Former world champion Frank Bruno spoke of nobility being taken from the sport as a result of the mismatch.
βWell it was a challenge trying to watch the fight!! It was not great was it? But if as a business deal for Mike it worked good luck to him. If it brought millions of people who donβt watch boxing to watch out of interest okay but for me what was always called the Noble Sport lost a bit of its nobility.
Bruno fought Tyson in both 1989 and 1996. The first fight was all action from the off as huge punches were exchanged but eventually Tyson got on top and the contest was stopped in round five.
The second time around, Tyson won via third-round TKO to take the WBC belt that Bruno had won in the previous fight with Oliver McCall. The defeat sent Bruno into retirement.
After this most recent fight, βIronβ Mike has confirmed that he is now retired for good.
