Exclusive:Simone Biles Watches Jonathan Owens Play with Chicago Bears Following Her Olympic Comeback…See More.
Biles cheered on her husband as the Bears faced the Cincinnati Bengals during his team’s second preseason game on Saturday, Aug. 17
Simone Biles is returning the support she received from husband Jonathan Owens while at the Paris Summer Olympics!
After arriving home with four Olympic medals, Biles, 27, appeared at Soldier Field in Chicago to watch Owens, 29, and the Chicago Bears take on the Cincinnati Bengals during the team’s second preseason game on Saturday, Aug. 17.
The gymnast shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of her outfit for the game: a black and white oversized jacket which appeared to depict her husband in a No. 34 jersey — which he wore while playing with the Green Bay Packers. Biles sported a black bodysuit underneath the jacket, a black Prada bucket hat and a pair of black and white Nike shoes.
She captioned the photo, “Bear Down.”
She also showed off her other accessory — a black ankle brace on her left foot — in another Boomerang video. The gymnast sustained an injury to her calf during warmups at the Paris Olympics and powered through the injury in the qualifications and finals.
In another photo, Biles shared a look at her vantage point of the football stadium from inside a skybox. The view showed the Chicago Bears touchdown zone and several players getting ready out on the field.
She and a friend appeared to have some fun as they watched the game, as Biles could also be seen clinking drinks with the pal before sipping from her cup and dancing in the private box.
Biles supporting Owens in Chicago comes days after the 11-time Olympic medalist reunited with Owens and posted the first photo of him on social media since her return from the Olympics.
Biles, who arrived home on Monday, Aug. 12, posted a snap of her husband appearing to do his hair while standing in a bathroom alongside one of their dogs. “🥰🥵🤍,” Biles — who took home three gold medals and one silver in the Summer Games — captioned the shot of the NFL player.
Biles revealed that she had returned home to the U.S. the day after her appearance at the closing ceremony, as she shared a makeup-free selfie from bed on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Never been so happy.”
Owens flew out to Paris to support Biles and saw her win Olympic gold in the all-around final, but he was unable to stay for Biles’ later individual finals — including the beam final and floor exercise final, in which she won silver — as he had to return for the Bears’ training camp.
Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Aug. 6 following his return from Paris, Owens opened up about the overwhelming pride he has for his wife, who became the most decorated U.S. gymnast in Olympic history.
Obviously, the first day when she had the injury to her calf and just her ability to persevere through that and go out there and still dominate is just amazing to watch,” Owens said of Biles.
“My wife is a warrior. That’s the one thing I tell people because I equate it to how we are in football,” he continued. “You limp around, and it will hurt a little bit right before. But as soon as you go, it’s like you forget about it. Just pain tolerance and the way she was able to go out there and, like I said, look graceful with everything.”
