EXCLUSIVE: Travis Kelce Compares Playing an NFL Game at Wembley to Watching Taylor Swift Perform There: Swifties ‘Get a Lot Louder’
Travis Kelce knows what it’s like to perform in front of a sold out crowd at Wembley Stadium, but he’s never experienced the type of audience girlfriend Taylor Swift has performed in front of — until this past Sunday.
On the most recent episode of his New Heights podcast released on Wednesday, June 26, Travis, 34, and his brother, Jason Kelce, were still basking in watching Swift, 34, “shred it” at Wembley Stadium during her London stops on the Eras Tour. The NFL brothers flew to England with friends and family to watch Swift’s performances, which ran three nights from June 21 to June 23.
“It was so cool,” Travis said, saying the fans at Wembley Stadium were more alive for Swift’s performance than they were when he and the Kansas City Chiefs played there in 2015 against the Detroit Lions.
“Playing in front of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium? I remember 2015 playing in front of 80,000 in Wembley Stadium and then seeing Tay up there going crazy,” he continued. “They get a lot louder for Taylor.” Jason, 36, pointed out that fans at NFL games are also “cheering on all the players on the field” and “it’s not just one person up there on the stage.”
“It was insanely impressive,” Jason added. “There’s something, like obviously, Taylor’s an amazing singer songwriter, but then to be able to go out there and be a performer at that level for how long she was up there for, like, three and a half hours, four hours?” “Yeah, 45 songs, bub,” Travis responded, giving Swift her props. “Oh my gosh. Yeah, dude, if I did what she did for one song I would have to change my clothes,” Jason laughed. “Insane,” Travis agreed.
