Cate Blanchett Shares Bold Opinion of the Eras Tour After Seeing Taylor Swift Perform With Her Daughter…See More 👇
Cate Blanchett is giving fans the lowdown on attending a recent Taylor Swift concert with one of her four kids.
While appearing on U.K.-based Capital Radio, Blanchett began by setting the record straight regarding her opinion of the pop superstar after she was asked if she’d officially consider herself a Swiftie now that she’s experienced the extremely popular Eras Tour, telling the hosts: “Well, I may have already been a Swiftie.”
The Borderlands star is one of several celebs spotted enjoying the global tour, certifying their Swiftie status, with many of them pictured in the VIP area. When asked about the exclusive section, Blanchett joked it’s just “lots of sweaty, famous people.”
“But then there’s a really sweaty glamazon famous person up there, so we pale into insignificance,” she quipped.
Blanchett continued, telling the radio show that her 9-year-old daughter, Edith, had a “near-religious experience” at the concert.
“I think when my daughter turned around, she was sure Taylor was singing right at her, and she goes, ‘Mum, she realized me!’” suggesting her daughter thought the 14-time Grammy winner recognized her in the sea of concertgoers. “Which also would have been a fantasy,” Blanchett laughed.
Last Thursday, Swift kicked off the first of five performances in her second series of shows as part of her London Eras Tour and the first show since a foiled terror plot forced the artist to cancel her Vienna stops. She performed again on Friday and Saturday and is set to return to the stage on Monday, Aug. 19, before wrapping up with a final show in the capital city on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old “Fortnight” songstress, her band and backup dancers will then enjoy a few weeks off, with the Eras Tour set to resume in October with stops in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before heading to Toronto and Vancouver—and finally ending the tour on Dec. 8.
