Adding Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to the Democratic ticket may have sweetened the deal for pop star Taylor Swift.

Walz, 60, is a bonafide Swiftie, making that admission publicly in a 2022 tweet.

The governor posted a picture of the family cat Afton with his mouth agape and fangs protruding.

‘Afton after being online all day and not getting Taylor Swift tickets,’ Walz wrote.

Swift, who backed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, has yet to endorse this election cycle.

Walz made his love for the pop star known in 2022 by sharing a photo of the family cat Afton baring his fangs after the governor was unable to secure concert tickets

As a singer, it took her years to become politically involved, but she finally dipped her toes into the Democratic waters in 2018 – publicly backing Senate hopeful Phil Bredesen over Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn in her home state of Tennessee.

She also endorsed Democrat Jim Cooper for U.S. House.

Swift’s endorsement came late in the race and didn’t do enough to get Bredesen over the hump. Cooper, representing a more liberal Tennessee district, was able to win reelection.

In 2020, Swift also waited until early October to publicly back Biden and Harris.

She made her endorsement over a plate of blue Biden-Harris cookies.

Swift made it known she was particularly happy that Biden picked Harris to be his running mate.

‘I spoke to VMagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate,’ she wrote in a tweet on October 7, 2020. ‘Gonna be watching and supporting Kamala Harris by yelling at the tv a lot.’

Swift’s endorsement this cycle will be one of the most coveted – and will likely enrage former President Donald Trump, who has complained about the pop star’s liberal leanings, according to Variety co-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setoodeh book on The Apprentice.

Another large-scale endorsement that is in the works is with Beyonce, DailyMail.com reported Sunday.

Beyonce has already given Harris permission to use her song Freedom in campaign ads and at rallies.

Walz is a fan of hers too.

Last summer when Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour came through Minnesota, Walz issued a proclamation labeling July 20, 2023: Beyonce Day.
