“He’s a great man and a tough man, and you’ve just got to get on with it.”
King Charles is still fighting cancer.
In February of this year, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles had been diagnosed, though they declined to disclose the specific type 0f cancer. Since, there haven’t been many updates on the King’s health, but his stepson, Tom Parker Bowles, has recently shared some insights.
“Cancer, it really is a bastard,” Parker Bowles told British Vogue in a new interview. “The King’s having the best treatment. He’s a great man and a tough man, and you’ve just got to get on with it. Of course, anyone who has someone they love with cancer is going to worry.” On how his mom, Queen Camilla, is handling her husband’s diagnosis, Parker said, “She’s tough, my mother.”
Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III [A Cookbook].
He was doing the interview to promote his new cookbook, Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III, which publishes in the U.S. in October. The text explores two centuries of British royal foods, highlighting recipes for all occasions.
At a launch party for Cooking and the Crown in London earlier this month, Parker Bowles thanked both King Charles and Queen Camilla for their support. “Thanks goes to the King and Queen, my mother, and obviously the King, without whom this book wouldn’t have been here. Without their support, their insight, their help, the rest of itβso a huge thank you to the King and Queen.”
King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to travel to Australia and Samoa in October, where one of the stops will highlight cancer care.
