Prince Harry’s concerns about his security in the UK have heightened, prompting his team to prohibit the WellChild awards from publicizing the location of Monday’s event.
According to Express.co.uk, Harry’s team has instructed event organizers not to disclose the venue to the public or even to those outside a close-knit circle of individuals due to fears that the Duke could become a target.
“Harry is still very concerned about his security in the UK, and his team has requested that the location not be shared with anyone until the day of the event,” the source revealed.
“It’s one thing for Harry to come over last minute for a funeral or to see family, but it’s completely different when the event is publicized and becomes widely known.
He could become a target, so the team has ensured that the location is only known on a need-to-know basis.”
This heightened security measure follows Harry’s startling admission in his memoir, Spare, where he disclosed that he killed 25 Taliban fighters during his time in Afghanistan.
“The reason why Harry has become such a security concern is due to comments he’s made about the Taliban,” the source explained
“Because of those comments, he will always be a target. That’s something he only has himself to blame.”
Just last month, Harry traveled from his home in the US to join his brother at St Maryβs Church in Norfolk for the memorial service of their late uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.
During that visit, the Duke stayed with his uncle, Earl Spencer, at the nearby Althorp estate.
However, it has been reported that he did not receive full support from the Home Office during this trip, as it did not fall within the government’s 28-day notice period for security arrangements.
