Ben Affleck received visits from both his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and his current wife Jennifer Lopez as he celebrated his 52nd birthday on Thursday, Aug. 15.

Early in the day, Garner, also 52, was seen visiting the actor’s rental home in Brentwood, Calif., in photos obtained by Page Six.

She and Affleck, who divorced in 2018, share three children together: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Back in May, the Air star and the Deadpool & Wolverine actress celebrated their daughter Violet’s high school graduation.

Just hours after Garner’s visit, Lopez, 55, was spotted departing Affleck’s rental home, in photos obtained by The Daily Mail.

Her marriage to Affleck remains under scrutiny after they spent much of the summer apart. After celebrating her own birthday in the Hamptons without Affleck, Lopez was seen visiting Affleck’s rental home, with a source telling PEOPLE that the Atlas actress stopped by the property on Sunday, Aug. 11, while he was there. Earlier in the day, she stepped out with his son Samuel.

Lopez, who has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, is eager to spend time with Affleck’s kids before the new school year begins, the source said.

Just because she’s not with Ben doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care about his kids. She always cared about them. She spent months looking for the perfect house for their blended family last year,” the source added. “Now when she’s back in L.A. she wants to spend quality time with them before school resumes and Violet is off to college.”

Sources revealed in May that the couple — who married in 2022 — had been living separately, after previously purchasing a Beverly Hills mansion together in May 2023.

Just last week, a source told PEOPLE that the actor has spent significant time working this past summer.

“Ben’s doing well. He thrives when he’s busy and he’s been working nonstop,” the source revealed on Friday, Aug. 9. “The kids are still off from school. He spends a lot of time with them, too.”

The Academy Award winner has spent the last several months filming a sequel to his 2016 action thriller The Accountant, which recently wrapped production, and has also been working as a producer on two projects that feature Lopez, including the sports biopic Unstoppable and the movie musical Kiss of the Spider-Woman.

The source also added that although Affleck recently purchased a home in Los Angeles, he is still living in the Brentwood, Calif., rental home where he was staying in May, when sources first said that he and Lopez were living separately.

“It hasn’t been the easiest summer for him either,” the source added on Aug. 9. “He’s just trying to stay focused and make every day as good as possible.”

Ahead of Lopez’s visit to Affleck’s rental home, a source previously told PEOPLE on Aug. 6 that the two hadn’t seen each other “in weeks.”

“They’re moving on separately,” the source added at the time. “Jennifer is trying to find a new home to start fresh.”
