Abigail Anderson Berard, Taylor Swift’s best friend, has her little boy’s hand wrapped around her finger.
On Friday, Aug. 16, the newly-minted mom, 34, shared that she welcomed her first baby, a son named Bennett, with husband Charles βCharlieβ Berard, posting a black-and-white photo on Instagram of her newborn baby holding her finger.
“Baby boy decided to join us a few weeks earlier than expected. Our hearts are exploding with love. Welcome to the world Bennett, itβs entirely yours. π,” Anderson Berard wrote in her caption.
At the end of July, Anderson Berard revealed she was expecting her first baby in an Instagram post which included a sweet nod to her longtime bestie.
“Iβm having his babyyyyβ¦ π,” Anderson Berard wrote, quoting lyrics from Swift’s The Tortured Poet’s Department track “But Daddy I Love Him.”
Her Instagram post included a photo of Anderson Berard eating Cheez-Its while showing off her growing baby bump.
Anderson Berard married her husband Charlie, a chief technology officer at Celero Commerce, in September 2022. She was previously married to photographer Matt Lucier from 2017 to 2021.
The new mom has been a longtime member of the Swiftie universe since before the pop star became famous, as the two became friends on the first day of high school.
“I have a lot of friends who do what I do. Either they’re actresses or singers or things like that. But my best friend, Abigail, we met when I was 15. First day of school freshman year we sat next to each other in English,” said Swift during an interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Swift has also revealed that Anderson Berard was the inspiration for her coming-of-age track “Fifteen” from her 2008 album Fearless.
“You sit in class next to a red-head named Abigail / And soon enough you’re best friends / Laughing at the other girls / Who think they’re so cool / We’ll be out of here as soon as we can,” sings Swift in the song.
“Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday / But I realized some bigger dreams of mine / And Abigail gave everything she had / To a boy who changed his mind / And we both cried,” she sings in another.
