Unbelievable Secret -Evander Holyfield Reveals The Real Reason Mike Tyson Kept Biting His Gloves During Jake Paul Loss..See More 👇
Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson will forever be linked by their infamous so-called ‘bite fight.’
It was the second match-up between the two after Holyfield beat Tyson via technical knockout in the 11th round of their first fight in 1997.
The rematch a year later reached only the third round before ‘Iron Mike’ rolled out of a clinch and first bit down on Holyfield’s ear. The referee discussed the incident with the Nevada Athletic Commissioner at ringside and allowed the contest to go on but Tyson did the same again, this time unnoticed.
It was only when the bell went at the end of the round and blood was visible that the referee stopped the fight. Holyfield remained WBA heavyweight champion while Tyson claimed he was growing frustrated with what he saw as intentional headbutts from Holyfield so took matters into his own hands.
This last weekend, Tyson was seen biting down on his gloves throughout his controversial contest with Jake Paul and speaking on his own YouTube channel, Holyfield revealed why he thinks that is.
Once he start biting on his gloves, this is when he gets nervous. When he gets nervous he bites on the gloves. He can’t figure it out.”
Post-fight, Tyson joked that he has ‘a biting fixation.’
After his loss to Paul, Holyfield called for a trilogy and ‘Iron Mike’ has responded to politely say no.
Instead, the heavyweight icon is expected to hang up the gloves for good following the Paul bout, in which he was uncompetitive and showed his age considerably.
